- Loons & Reeds

Loons are beautiful graceful birds that are mystical and enchanting. The cry of the loon or yodel pierces the quiet and stillness of the lakes of the Canadian north. This series of loon images was inspired by these majestic wild birds who are part of the living landscape of Muskoka. These peaceful serene images invite the viewer into the scene to be as one with nature.
- Birch Trees

A Kaleidoscope of Birch is a series of works that present the viewer with life-size birch trees on colourful atmospheric backgrounds. Primary and secondary colours create a dramatic contrast to the white birch trees. These images are simplified eliminating all unnecessary background information highlighting the subject matter.
- Landscapes

Canadian landscape that captures the beauty and serenity of natural scenes will inspire a new series of works. Fallen Branches is the first of this series of works. The linear images of lifeless branches juxtaposed to its organic fluid surroundings are symbolic of the life cycle.
- Woodland Birds

Woodland Birds are part of the living landscape of the Canadian north and connect this series of birch tree images. Birds represent freedom which is why we often soar in our dreams. People live harried and hard and long for a return to simplicity. One imperfectly perfect bird alighting on a branch may for that moment nourish the spirit; it may serve as a reminder that we all need to pay attention in order to regain ourselves.
- Pussywillows

Pussywillows is a series of images that combine realism and imagery. Atmospheric backgrounds frame each branch carefully balancing negative and positive space. In coupling my initial idea with what nature provides, I am able to create a reality from the perspective of true attention to detail. Nature in all its metaphor then comes to life through how I perceive it.
