SUSAN GOSEVITZ, SCA

Susan Gosevitz is a Toronto based visual artist painting the Canadian landscape from the perspective of true attention to detail in images that are serene and calm inviting the viewer into the scene’s gentility to be as one with nature. “I see art as a collaboration with nature. Together we create the real and sublime in one, providing a return from hectic and stress, from consumption and chaos, to meditative simplicity”. Inspired by life’s cycles and the inner beauty found in nature, Susan paints scenes of natural moments to wake up, to calm and to bring a sense of peace.

Muskoka is an endless source of inspiration where Susan paints with a group of artists in the summer months. The group is known as “The Tobin Island School of Fine Art”. They have exhibited together and have illustrated two books, Chucky The Lonely Inukshuk in 2009 and Larry The Loon in 2011. Their studio is located on Tobin’s Island overlooking Lake Rosseau.

Susan is an active member in the arts community and uses her artistic talents to help many charities. As a founding member of the Herbie Fund, Susan co-ordinates the Herbie Artists in support of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She has created artwork for tribute cards for the Baycrest Hospital in Toronto and the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. Her work can be found in the Loretta Ann Rogers Critical Care Centre at the Toronto Western Hospital.
